Arsenal Wenger Gives Update on Alexis Sanchez
Sanchez has started just one league game so far this term – the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield – but played 90 minutes as Arsenal beat Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
After their 1-0 victory, Arsenal were drawn to face Championship club Norwich City at home in the fourth round of the competition. The last-16 action will get underway on the week commencing October 23.
When pressed whether he could start for the Gunners when they return to league action against West Brom next Monday, the French boss replied: ‘Yes, he should be ready now.’
Wenger was pleased with his side’s bright start to the cup clash – Arsenal created numerous chanced in the first 25 minutes with Olivier Giroud rattling the crossbar – but said the Gunners lost their ‘cohesion’ as the game went on.
