Lionel Messi Blocks Barcelona From Signing Bayern Munich midfielder

Lionel Messi has blocked Barcelona's move to re-sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Don Balon says Barca have Thiago on their shortlist of alternatives should they fail to strike terms with Liverpool for Philippe Coutinho.

Messi and Thiago have always performed well together and enjoyed a good combination when the latter was with Barca.

However, comments made by Thiago after leaving Barca left the Argentine unimpressed. The Spain international has admitted he wouldn't have a problem signing for Real Madrid in the future.

Such claims angered Messi, seeing this type of attitude as betrayal, and so has told president Josep Maria Bartomeu not to consider re-signing the midfielder.
